The 2012 Subaru Legacy 3.6R comes with a 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a traditional 5-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode. That combination rates at 18 mpg city/25 highway for fuel mileage.

The 2012 Legacy 3.6 trims—the Base, Premium and Limited—are basically the same as the those for the 2.5i, but set up with the larger engine. The 3.6Rs also come with 17-inch alloy wheels and bigger brakes.
