Overview of 2012 Nissan Murano LE By Eric Tallberg
Bearing the traditional 64 cubic feet of total cargo area, V6 power and spacious cabin of its distaff siblings, the top-shelf 2012 Nissan Murano LE trim boasts regal additional standard goodies befitting its status.
For example, 20-inch painted alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and a roof rack, as well as a power liftgate, front power sunroof and rear fixed glass sunroof grace this 5-passenger midsize crossover’s exterior, while leather upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats, heated reclining rear seats and upgraded memory for driver's settings endow its well-mannered cabin. A heated leather and simulated alloy steering wheel is complemented by alloy, leather and simulated wood cabin accents and dual-zone climate control, while cruise control, power-adjustable telescoping tilt-wheel steering, a universal remote garage door opener, standard cargo organizer, rear-view camera and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror cater to convenience whims.
An MP3-capable single-CD player with 11 Bose premium speakers, satellite radio and a USB port offer up the tunes aboard Nissan’s high-end LE, while standard Bluetooth technology allows hands-free communications.
Notable options available to this handsome trim, meantime, include rear-seat DVD entertainment with dual rear-headrest-mounted screens, a Class II trailer hitch and wiring, splash guards, roof rail crossbars and illuminated door sills.
The princely Murano LE packs a standard 3.5-liter V6 powerplant and the acclaimed continuously variable transmission (CVT) to put out 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. Towing is maxed out at 3,500 pounds with the proper equipment, and variable-valve-timed (VVT) mileage is estimated at 18 mpg city/24 highway.
Finally, standard safety equipment includes 4-wheel antilock braking (ABS), traction and stability control, front and rear head airbags, front head restraint whiplash protection and front side-mounted airbags. Front fog/driving lights, high-intensity-discharge (HID) headlights and a remote antitheft alarm also come standard, while LED daytime running lights are optional.
This overview covers the LE trim only.
