Overview of 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C250 Sport By R. Feeman
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C250 Sport, new for 2012, displays a number of interior and exterior updates given to all 2012 C-Class trims. New exterior features include restyled bumpers, headlights, taillights and a new aluminum hood. Mercedes also adds sport body styling, which includes a front apron with mesh air intakes, sculpted side sills and a rear skirt. LED daytime running lights, a power tilt/slide sunroof and 17-inch wheels also come standard. Inside, new C-Class features include a redesigned dashboard, restyled air vents, new controls and a new center console. Sport cabin styling adds a three-spoke steering wheel, aluminum trim and rubber-studded aluminum sport pedals. Dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power-adjustable sport front seats, Bluetooth, HD radio, illuminated entry, a SmartKey remote controller and auto-dimming interior and driver-side mirrors are among the other standard features. Mercedes also includes a 5.8-inch color LCD display for the audio system and other interior functions, which the driver can manage using steering-wheel-mounted controls.
Power for the C250 Sport comes from a turbocharged 1.8-liter 4-cylinder powerplant, which develops 201 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque. It powers the rear-wheel-drive C250 Sport from 0-60 in 7.1 seconds. The engine mates to a 7-speed automatic transmission with the Touch Shift manual-shift feature and posts fuel economy numbers of 21/31 mpg. Premium fuel is required. The C250 Sport rides on a lowered sport-tuned suspension, and comes equipped with such safety features as electronic stability control, antilock brakes, brake assist, rain-sensing windshield wipers and 9 airbags. Attention Assist, which alerts drivers if they're becoming drowsy, also comes standard.
This overview covers the C250 Sport trim only.
