2012 Mazda MAZDA3 s Grand Touring Trim Overview

The sport-oriented 2012 Mazda MAZDA3 s Grand Touring compact sedan receives an exterior update for 2012, which includes new front and rear bumpers, a redesigned front grille with a more rounded look and updated front headlights, as well as new 17-inch wheels with all-season radial tires. In keeping with its sporty nature, the s Grand Touring comes equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, which produces 167 hp and a solid 168 lb-ft of torque. The engine posts fuel economy numbers of 20/28 mpg when connected to a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and a slightly better 22/29 when linked to a 5-speed electronically controlled Sport automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Logic and a manual-shift mode. The s Grand Touring also includes 11.8-inch vented disc brakes in the front and 11-inch solid disc brakes in the rear, compared to 10.9-inch and 10.4-inch disc brakes for the other MAZDA3 trims, respectively. Dynamic Stability Control, traction control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution are also part of the s Grand Touring's standard package.

Inside, the s Grand Touring's cabin features a number of sport- and luxury-oriented amenities, including leather-upholstered sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated front seats, an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control and Mazda's advanced keyless entry system with push-button start. In addition, a 265-watt, 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System comes standard, although SiriusXM satellite radio remains an option. Other standard features include Bluetooth, a welcome lighting system, steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, power windows and door locks, and a compact navigation system with a color display. Six airbags, including front advanced airbags, front side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags, are among the standard safety features.
