2012 Mazda MAZDA3 s Grand Touring Hatchback Trim Overview

The Mazda MAZDA3 s Grand Touring Hatchback comes equipped with a number of sport- and luxury-oriented features for 2012, including leather-upholstered sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated front seats, an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Mazda's advanced keyless entry system with push-button start. In addition, a 265-watt, 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System comes standard, with optional SiriusXM satellite radio. Other standard features for the s Grand Touring Hatchback include a compact navigation system with a color display, a welcome lighting system, Bluetooth, steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, and power windows and door locks. Six airbags, including front advanced airbags, front side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags, are among the standard safety features.

Outside, the s Grand Touring Hatchback displays a freshened exterior design, with new front and rear bumpers, a redesigned front grille and updated front headlights, as well as new 17-inch wheels with all-season radial tires. For power, the hatch comes equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, which puts out 167 hp and a solid 168 lb-ft of torque. The engine posts fuel economy numbers of 20/28 mpg when connected to a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and a slightly better 22/29 when linked to a 5-speed electronically controlled Sport automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Logic and a manual-shift mode. The s Grand Touring Hatchback also gets upgraded 11.8-inch vented disc brakes in the front and 11-inch solid disc brakes in the rear. Dynamic Stability Control, traction control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution are also part of the s Grand Touring Hatchback's standard equipment package.
