2012 Mazda MAZDA3 i Touring Trim Overview

The Mazda MAZDA3 i Touring compact sedan receives a new engine and transmission for 2012, as well as an exterior styling update. Power comes from a new fuel-efficient 2.0-liter 4-cylinder SkyActiv engine, which generates 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. The powerplant posts fuel economy numbers of 27/39 mpg when linked to a new SkyActive-MT 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and a slightly better 28/40 when mated to a new SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed electronically controlled Sport automatic transmission with a manual-shift mode. Dynamic Stability Control, traction control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution all come standard on the i Touring. Outside, it receives new front and rear bumpers, a redesigned front grille and updated front headlights, as well as new 16-inch wheels with all-season radial tires.

The i Touring's 5-passenger cabin comes equipped with a number of standard features not found in lower-end trims, including Bluetooth, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, steering-wheel-mounted cruise control, a multi-information display, and a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with an audio input jack and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. Other standard features include air conditioning, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and black high-contrast gauges with white lettering and blue accents. Cloth seats are standard, with manual adjustment for the driver's and front passenger's seats, and a 60/40-split rear seatback. Options include a 265-watt, 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System with available SiriusXM satellite radio. Six airbags, including front advanced airbags, front side-impact airbags, and side-curtain airbags, are among the standard safety features.
