2012 Mazda MAZDA3 i Touring Hatchback Trim Overview

The 5-door, 5-passenger Mazda MAZDA3 hatchback receives an updated exterior design for 2012, as well as a new powerplant under the hood. Outside, the i Touring Hatchback receives new front and rear bumpers, a redesigned front grille and updated front headlights, as well as new 16-inch wheels with all-season radial tires. For power, it comes equipped with a new fuel-efficient 2.0-liter 4-cylinder SkyActiv engine, which produces 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. The powerplant posts fuel economy numbers of 27/39 mpg when linked to a new SkyActive-MT 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and 28/40 when connected to a new SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed electronically controlled Sport automatic transmission with a manual-shift mode. Dynamic Stability Control, traction control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution are also part of the standard package.

Inside the i Touring Hatchback's 5-passenger cabin, such features as Bluetooth, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, a leather-covered shift knob, a multi-information display, and a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with an audio input jack come standard. In addition, the i Touring Hatchback retains its cloth upholstery, with manual adjustment for the driver's and front passenger's seats, and a 60/40-split rear seatback. Other standard features include air conditioning, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry and cruise control. Options include a 265-watt, 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System with available SiriusXM satellite radio. Six airbags, including front advanced airbags, front side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags, are among the standard safety features.
