2012 Mazda MAZDA3 i Grand Touring Hatchback Trim Overview

As the best-equipped MAZDA3 hatchback trim available for 2012, the Mazda MAZDA3 i Grand Touring Hatchback includes such upscale amenities as leather upholstery, heated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a welcome lighting system and a compact navigation system with a color display. Mazda also includes a 265-watt, 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System, with optional SiriusXM satellite radio. Other standard features include air conditioning, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, and black high-contrast gauges with white lettering and blue accents. Six airbags, including front advanced airbags, front side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags, are among the standard safety features.

The MAZDA3 i Grand Touring Hatchback also receives an updated exterior design and a new powerplant for 2012. Outside, the 5-door, 5-passenger hatchback displays new front and rear bumpers, a redesigned front grille and revised front headlights, as well as new 16-inch wheels with all-season radial tires. Under the hood, the hatchback now comes equipped with a new fuel-efficient 2.0-liter 4-cylinder SkyActiv engine, which generates 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. The powerplant posts fuel economy numbers of 27/39 mpg when linked to a new SkyActive-MT 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and 28/40 when connected to a new SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed electronically controlled Sport automatic transmission with a manual-shift mode. Dynamic Stability Control, traction control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution are also part of the i Grand Touring Hatchback's standard equipment package.
