2012 Honda Odyssey EX Trim Overview

The mid-level Honda Odyssey EX minivan receives a few new standard features for 2012, including Bluetooth, a multi-information display with an 8-inch screen, a USB audio interface and a 2GB CD library. In addition, the EX comes equipped with a number of standard features not found on the entry-level LX trim, including a tri-zone automatic climate control system with humidity control, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar, power sliding side doors and steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls. In addition, the EX carries 8 passengers, up one from the LX's 7, thanks to its multifunction second-row center seat with a beverage-holder tray, which folds down when the seat is not in use. Also, the EX receives 2 extra speakers, for a total of 7, for its 229-watt AM/FM//CD audio system, which includes a subwoofer and an audio input jack. Other standard features for the Odyssey EX include power windows and door locks, a programmable remote entry system, a removable front center console, first- and second-row seatback pockets and 15 cupholders, including 7 in the second row.

A 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 powers the front-wheel-drive Odyssey EX. The engine develops 248 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque and features Variable Cylinder Management, which shuts down certain cylinders when they're not needed, such as when cruising or decelerating, to conserve fuel. The engine mates to a 5-speed automatic transmission and posts fuel economy numbers of 18/27 mpg. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, as well as Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control and antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist. Exterior features include heated power side mirrors, a rear roofline spoiler with an integrated brakelight and halogen headlights with auto on/off. The Odyssey EX rides on 17-inch wheels.
