2012 Honda Civic LX Trim Overview

The 2012 Honda Civic LX compact sedan represents a step up from the entry-level DX trim, and comes equipped with a number of standard features not found on the DX, such as air conditioning with air filtration, power door locks, cruise control, steering-wheel-mounted controls, keyless remote, floor mats and map lights. In addition, the LX receives Honda's new 6.5-inch LCD intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), which nestles into the upper right section of the LX’s instrument panel. The new display system handles audio, Bluetooth and general vehicle information. Other standard features for the LX include power windows, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and a 160-watt, 4-speaker AM/FM audio system with an MP3/CD player, speed-sensitive volume and an input jack. The rear seatback splits and folds down to expand cargo space, which checks in at 12.5 cubic feet with the rear seatbacks up and in place. Dual-stage front, front-side, and side curtain airbags are also included. Outside, standard features include folding power mirrors and auto-off headlights.

Power for the LX comes from a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine, which produces 140 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. It links to either a 5-speed manual transmission, which comes standard, or a 5-speed automatic, which buyers can add as an option. The engine posts fuel economy numbers of 28/39 mpg when the engine is mated with the automatic transmission, and 28/36 when linked to the manual transmission. Safety equipment includes front and rear side-curtain airbags and front-side airbags, as well as dual-stage front airbags. In addition, vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist are all included with the standard package. The LX sits on 15-inch wheels with all-season tires.
