Overview of 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid w/ Leather and Nav By R. Feeman
As the best-equipped Civic Hybrid available for 2012, the Honda Civic Hybrid with Leather and Navigation offers a wide range of upscale amenities as well as state-of-the-art fuel-efficient features. The Hybrid's satellite-linked navigation system, which includes voice recognition, FM traffic and an extensive on-board database, is controlled through a 6.5-inch LCD color display with 16GB of flash memory, replacing the previous DVD-based system. The 6.5-inch display also incorporates Honda's new intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), which provides the driver with feedback on fuel efficiency and driving performance and handles the audio and voice-activated Bluetooth systems as well.
The Civic Hybrid with Leather and Navigation comes well-equipped with such premium features as leather upholstery, heated front seats and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. Other standard equipment includes automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, steering-wheel-mounted controls, cruise control, power windows and door locks, and a 6-speaker, 160-watt audio system with an MP3/CD player and speed-sensitive volume. Outside, power heated folding mirrors, foglights and auto-off headlights are among the standard features.
Power for the Civic Hybrid with Leather and Navigation comes from a new 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder gas engine and a 23-hp electric motor. Together, the gas engine and electric motor generate 110 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque. While horsepower remains the same as the previous-generation powerplant, torque has increased by 4 lb-ft. In addition, the new powerplant achieves peak performance at 500 fewer rpm, providing better performance at lower speeds. A Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), regenerative braking and a new lithium-ion battery system, replacing the previous nickel-metal hydride system, also come standard on the front-wheel-drive Civic Hybrid, which posts fuel economy numbers of 44/44 mpg. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, as well as vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist. The 2012 Civic Hybrid with Leather and Navigation rides on 15-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires.
This overview covers the Hybrid w/ Leather and Nav trim only.
