Overview of 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid w/ Leather By R. Feeman
Delivering a unique combination of fuel economy and upscale amenities, the Honda Civic Hybrid with Leather comes equipped with a new powertrain for 2012, as well as a lighter, more compact lithium-ion battery system. Inside, premium features include leather upholstery, heated front seats and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. In addition, the Hybrid with Leather receives Honda's new intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), which provides the driver with feedback on fuel efficiency and driving performance and handles the audio and voice-activated Bluetooth systems as well. Other standard features on the Hybrid with Leather include automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, steering-wheel-mounted controls, cruise control, power windows and door locks, and a 6-speaker, 160-watt audio system with an MP3/CD player and speed-sensitive volume. Outside, power heated folding mirrors, foglights and auto-off headlights are among the standard features.
The Hybrid's new powertrain consists of a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder i-VTEC gas engine and a 23-hp electric motor. Together, the gas engine and electric motor generate 110 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque. While horsepower remains the same as the previous-generation powerplant, torque has increased by 4 lb-ft, and the new engine achieves peak performance at 500 fewer rpm, providing better performance at lower speeds. The powertrain also includes a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), regenerative braking and a new lithium-ion battery system, which replaces the previous nickel-metal hydride system. With its updated powertrain, the front-wheel-drive Hybrid with Leather now achieves fuel economy numbers of 44/44 mpg. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, as well as vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist. The 2012 Civic Hybrid with Leather rides on 15-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires.
This overview covers the Hybrid w/ Leather trim only.
