2012 Honda CR-V LX AWD Trim Overview

The redesigned 2012 Honda CR-V LX with AWD comes equipped with the automaker's new electronically controlled Real Time AWD system with intelligence, which replaces the previous year's mechanically activated all-wheel-drive system. The new AWD system provides smoother overall operation than the previous setup. Honda also includes Hill Start Assist, which prevents rollback when starting the vehicle on an incline, in the LX's standard equipment package. Power comes from a 2.4-liter, i-VTEC DOHC 4-cylinder engine, which links to a 5-speed automatic and produces 185 hp and 164 lb-ft of torque. The engine manages fairly decent fuel economy numbers of 22/30 mpg, an increase of 1 mpg city and 3 mpg highway from the previous year.

Inside, the LX's updated cabin includes such standard features as Bluetooth and a new multi-angle rear-view camera. The LX also receives Honda's new 5-inch LCD intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), which handles audio, Bluetooth and general vehicle information, as well as Pandora music streaming and a new SMS text messaging function. A new Easy Fold-Down 60/40 split rear seat automatically folds nearly flat at the flick of a lever, making it easier to reconfigure the cabin for passengers or cargo. Remote keyless entry, power windows and door locks, cruise control, a tilt/telescopic multifunction steering wheel with audio controls and a 4-speaker, 160-watt AM/FM audio system with a CD player and input jack also come standard. Safety features include 6 airbags as well as stability control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. Outside, power folding mirrors and auto-off headlights are included in the standard equipment package. The Honda CR-V LX rides on 16-inch wheels with all-season tires.
