Redesigned for 2012, the Honda CR-V EX-L with DVD comes equipped with a factory-installed DVD rear entertainment system, which includes a 7-inch flip-down LCD screen for rear-seat passengers. The system's audio can play through either the vehicle's 7-speaker audio system or through wireless headphones, so front passengers can listen to a different audio source. The DVD player, located in the center console, can be controlled via the front audio-system controls, with a wireless remote, or through the DVD player itself. One set of wireless headphones comes standard, although owners can order additional headsets.
The EX-L with DVD comes equipped with a number of other upscale features, including leather upholstery, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat and dual-zone automatic climate control. In addition, a 328-watt audio system includes XM satellite radio and is controlled through a new 5-inch LCD intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), which also handles Bluetooth and general vehicle information, as well as Pandora music streaming and a new voice-oriented text messaging function. Another new feature for 2012 is an Easy Fold-Down 60/40 split rear seat, which automatically folds nearly flat at the flick of a lever, making it easy to reconfigure the cabin for passengers or cargo. A power moonroof, an illuminated vanity mirror, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, cruise control and power windows and door locks are also included in the EX-L's standard equipment package. Outside, heated power side mirrors and auto-off headlights are among the standard features.
Power for the EX-L with DVD comes from a 2.4-liter, i-VTEC DOHC 4-cylinder engine, which links to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The powerplant produces 185 hp and 164 lb-ft of torque, and manages fuel economy numbers of 23/31 mpg. A Hill Assist feature, also new for 2012, helps prevent rollback when the vehicle is started on an incline. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, as well as stability control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. The CR-V EX-L with DVD rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires.
