2012 Honda CR-V EX-L Trim Overview

The well-equipped Honda CR-V EX-L, which received a full redesign for 2012, comes equipped with a number of features not found on lower-end CR-V trims, including leather upholstery, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, 10-way power adjustment for the driver's seat and dual-zone automatic climate control. In addition, the EX-L's standard equipment list includes a 328-watt, 7-speaker AM/FM audio system with XM satellite radio. A power moonroof, an illuminated vanity mirror, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic multifunction steering wheel, cruise control and power windows and door locks are among the EX-L's other standard features. New for 2012, the CR-V EX-L receives a 5-inch LCD intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), which handles audio, Bluetooth and general vehicle information, as well as Pandora music streaming and a new voice-oriented text messaging function. Another new feature for 2012 is an Easy Fold-Down 60/40 split rear seat, which automatically folds nearly flat at the flick of a lever, making it easy to reconfigure the cabin for passengers or cargo. Heated power side mirrors and auto-off headlights are among the standard exterior features.

A 2.4-liter, i-VTEC DOHC 4-cylinder engine drives the EX-L. The engine links to a 5-speed automatic transmission and generates 185 hp and 164 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy numbers for the powerplant check in at 23/31 mpg. A Hill Assist feature, new for 2012, helps prevent rollback when the vehicle is started on an incline. The EX-L comes equipped with such standard safety features as 6 airbags, as well as stability control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. The Honda CR-V EX-L rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires.
