New for 2012, the sport-oriented Dodge Avenger R/T features a stiffened suspension, a center-mounted tachometer and a performance-inspired design. In addition, the R/T displays a monochromatic exterior appearance with black-background headlights and R/T fender stripes, as well as a rear spoiler and dual chrome exhaust tips, all of which help it stand out from the crowd. A body-color split-crosshair grille, projector foglights, power heated mirrors, LED taillights, dual chrome exhaust tips and 18-inch Rallye Design aluminum wheels are among the R/T's other standard exterior features. The specially turned sport suspension features increased roll stiffness, spring rates and damping rates, as well as an upgraded 21mm antiroll bar. Power comes from a 3.5-liter Pentastar V6 engine producing 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It links to a 6-speed automatic transmission with the AutoStick manual-shift feature. Fuel economy numbers check in at 19/26 mpg. Six airbags, 4-wheel antilock brakes, electronic stability control and traction control are among the R/T's standard safety features.
Inside, the R/T comes equipped with such distinctive features as a perforated leather steering wheel, heated front seats and Z-striped cloth seats with leather bolsters. The front bucket seats feature 8-way power adjustment for the driver, while the rear seat splits 60/40 and folds down. Tech features include a 6.5-inch touchscreen display and an upgraded Uconnect entertainment system with a 6-speaker, 276-watt Boston Acoustic sound system, a 30GB hard drive, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, a CD/DVD player, an audio input jack and a remote USB port. An auto-dimming rear-view mirror, remote engine start, automatic climate control, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and power windows and door locks are among the other standard features.
