2012 Chevrolet Sonic 2LS Hatchback Trim Overview

Debuting for 2012, the Chevrolet Sonic 2LS Hatchback rides on a front-wheel-drive platform and delivers good performance, thanks to its 1.8-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine generates 138 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque, and when linked to the automatic, it posts fuel economy numbers of 26 mpg city/35 highway. The 2LS Hatchback comes equipped with a total of 10 airbags, including knee airbags for the driver and passenger. Other standard safety features include the StabiliTrak stability control system, traction control and 4-wheel antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. Daytime running lights and a hill hold feature also come standard, along with GM's OnStar system, which includes automatic crash response, crisis assist, roadside assistance and stolen vehicle assistance, as well as turn-by-turn navigation and vehicle diagnostics.

The Sonic 2LS Hatchback displays a slightly more aggressive look than the Sonic sedan, thanks to its integrated rear spoiler. It also offers a few additional inches of rear-seat headroom, due to its boxlike rear-end design. Exterior features for the Sonic 2LS Hatchback include a dual-element grille, auto on/off halogen headlights, prominent fender flares, round taillights and 15-inch wheels. Inside, standard features for the hatchback include sport cloth upholstery, air conditioning with an outside temperature display, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and a 4-speaker audio system with an auxiliary input jack. The rear seatback splits 60/40 and folds flat, providing up to 47.7 cubic feet of cargo space.
