2012 Buick LaCrosse Leather Trim Level Overview

The Buick LaCrosse Leather sedan, which receives a number of updates for 2012, comes equipped with several features not found on lower-end trims, including leather upholstery, heated seats and an 8-way power-adjustable passenger seat. The Leather trim also gets a new voice-activated IntelliLink system, which includes an 8-inch, high-resolution touchscreen display. It integrates with a 7-speaker audio system with SiriusXM satellite radio, a CD player and an auxiliary port, and enables passengers to link their portable electronic devices to the infotainment system using Bluetooth or USB. Other standard features for the 5-passenger LaCrosse include a new color driver information center, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, cloth upholstery, remote keyless entry and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls.

Outside, the LaCrosse Leather displays such exterior features as foglights and heated power side mirrors with LED indicators, as well as composite halogen headlights, daytime running lights and a choice of  17-, 18- or 19-inch wheels. For power, buyers can choose from a new eAssist base powerplant or an available V6. The eAssist features a 2.4-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission, as well as a 15-kilowatt motor-generator unit and a 115-volt lithium-ion battery. The gas engine drives the vehicle under typical operation, while the lithium-ion battery automatically kicks in when required to provide an electrical boost of power. The eAssist powerplant generates 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque, and posts fuel economy numbers of 25/36 mpg. Buyers can also opt for an updated V6 engine, which pumps out 303 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque. It also links to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and posts fuel economy numbers of 17/27 mpg. In addition to 6 airbags, standard safety features include the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, traction control and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. The standard OnStar system provides a number of safety features, including emergency services, crisis assist, remote door unlock and vehicle diagnostics.
