Overview of 2012 Audi Q7 3.0T Quattro Premium Plus By Michael Perkins
Audi is all about tech, and the 2012 Q7 3.0T Quattro Premium Plus does nothing to dispel this assumption. With front and rear obstacle detection systems, a navigation system with traffic and voice recognition, rear-view camera and Bose stereo, it’s easy to forget that the primary purpose of this Basilisk is locomotion. But a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 doesn’t like to be ignored, even when limited by hardware and features like an 8-speed automatic transmission, traction and stability control. Front, rear and center limited-slip differentials are on-hand as well, waiting to mitigate at the first scent of slippage. You get automatic xenon headlights, fog lights and LED daytime running lights here, as well as full leather and dual-zone automatic climate controls. A memory system governs the heated 12-way power driver’s bucket and the heated power mirrors with turn signals, and a power sunroof and remote keyless entry further round out the power package. There are dual-zone automatic climate controls, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth, high-definition radio and an iPod interface. With 18-inch alloy wheels, the 3.0T provides the most forgiving ride of the Q7 family, and assisted 4-wheel antilock discs wait to clamp down and bring the whole package to a halt. Final safety features include dual front, front-side and curtain-side airbags.
This overview covers the 3.0T Quattro Premium Plus trim only.
