2012 Acura TSX Special Edition Trim Overview

New for 2012, the Acura TSX Special Edition comes with a number of unique features not found on other TSX trims, including a more prominent front spoiler, a redesigned rear bumper, unique side sills and unique 17-inch aluminum wheels with a polished finish. Other standard exterior features include a HID headlights and integrated front foglights. Inside, the TSX Special Edition comes equipped with perforated black Lux Suede upholstery with red stitching on the seats, steering wheel and shift knob, as well as red lighting for the instrument gauges, overhead lighting and footwell lighting. It also receives aluminum pedal covers, black headliner material and bright silver plating on the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The dual-level heated front sport seats feature 8-way power adjustment for the driver and 4-way power adjustment for the passenger, while the leather-wrapped steering wheel includes controls for audio, cruise and Bluetooth. A standard 7-speaker, 360-watt audio system includes a 6-CD changer, SiriusXM satellite radio, USB interface, an MP3 input jack and subwoofer. Other standard features for the TSX Special Edition include a power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry and power windows and door locks.

Power for the front-wheel-drive TSX Special Edition comes from a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, which produces 201 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. It links to a 5-speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The transmission also includes an S mode, which reconfigures shift points for sportier driving. Fuel economy numbers check in at 21/31 mpg. Owners can opt for an available 6-speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter, which drops fuel economy numbers to 21/29 mpg.
