2011 Lincoln MKS Trims

3.5L AWD

Avg. Price: $26,769

The flagship 2011 Lincoln MKS 3.5L AWD has the distinction of carrying Ford’s much-ballyhooed EcoBoost 3.5-liter turbocharged V6. This ground-pounder, when matched with the standard six-speed auto-manual transmission, puts out 355 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque and actually betters the 3.7-liter V6, mileage-wise, to the tune of 17/25 mpg.

Standard comfort and safety equipment in the 2011 MKS 3.5L AWD mirrors that of the lesser MKS trims, with the exception being the MKS 3.5 AWD’s standard 19-inch wheels. Furthermore, Active Park Assist, for those whose parallel parking skills may be a bit rusty, is an extra option offered with this top-shelf trim.

3.7L

Avg. Price: $23,396

Basically a well-endowed Taurus, the 2011 Lincoln MKS 3.7L full-size luxury sedan comes with the cachet of the Lincoln name as well as a semi-plush ride and a boatload of standard features. Included in this base trim are standard 18-inch painted alloy wheels, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, heated front and rear seats, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, audio, and cruise controls, keyless ignition, universal remote garage door opener, memory for driver's settings, satellite radio, a 6-CD changer with eight speakers, SYNC/Bluetooth voice-activated communications, navigation, and audio technology, reverse parking sensors, and a USB connection. Options range from the THX II premium audio system through DVD navigation, 19- and 20-inch aluminum wheels, and adaptive cruise control with collision warning and emergency braking preparation to a dual-panel power-sliding moonroof.

Safety-wise, the 2011 MKS 3.7L is equipped with four-wheel ABS, traction and stability control, front side-mounted airbags, front and rear head airbags, self-leveling, auto-dimming headlights, front fog/driving lights, remote anti-theft alarm, and post-collision safety system. Additionally, the MyKey programmable speed and audio-volume limiting system is standard for all trims.

Powering the 2011 MKS 3.7L is the standard 3.7-liter variable-valve-timed V6 that combines with a standard auto-manual six-speed transmission for 273 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. This front-wheel-drive (FWD) trim gets an estimated 17/24 mpg.

3.7L AWD

Avg. Price: $24,765

Equipped and optioned identically to its front-wheel-drive (FWD) sibling (the 3.7L), the Taurus-inspired 2011 Lincoln MKS 3.7L AWD five-passenger sedan has the added attraction of full-time all-wheel-drive (AWD) traction and safety. A center-mounted mechanical limited-slip differential provides constant power to all four wheels.

Again like its FWD kin, the 2011 MKS 3.7L AWD is delivered with a standard 3.7-liter V6 and six-speed auto-manual transmission for 273 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. Despite variable valve timing, mileage is a somewhat tepid 16/23 mpg.
