Pros

All good

Cons

Gas mileage about 18 combined, OEM parts at dealer a bit expensive, but dealers are very, very nice and professional.

Great Suv — Love it all. Quiet, large enough, yet not too large in the city. Reliable ... all great. Have had 3 and loved them all. Good space and 3rd row seats fully flatten. Great 4wd capability. Wonderful head lights ... you can see everything! Also, all 3 Rover's have really held their value! Also, great low center of gravity allows it to handle very well without the feeling of too much body-lean.

Pros

Enough said. It's a good vehicle

Cons

Too pretty ...

Brilliant — Getting pretty close to Range Rover levels of comfort with the Discovery, even with the diesel engine. It's quiet enough, capable of cruising at respectable speeds and has plenty of room. Try not to think of the Discovery as an off-roader that's been civilised, because it really is so much more than that. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel features twin turbochargers, meaning although it's as weighty as America's debt burden, it shifts pretty darn convincingly given its size. A lovely interior. Closer to the Rangie than the Defender, everything in here feels chunky and well-sorted. It might not be quite as luxurious as the Range Rover, but there's a sense that Land Rover wants to be taken seriously. There have been issues with door seals and various bits'n'bobs on the earlier cars, but those reliability problems have been sorted.

Pros

The best vehicle for field trips, road trips, trips to the sea, camping trips,  and of course off road trips.

Cons

The size of the gas tank. The sensitivity of the low tire pressure gauge sensors. What a polluter it is but it does allow you to take one versus two cars in many cases.

2011 Land Rover Lr4 — With a Jaguar engine, BMW transmission and Ford electronics this is a serious "best of breed" Land Rover. It's the most reliable vehicle I have ever own which is ironic given my father's woes with english cars as a kid. 475 HP matched with such offroad prowess is rare for a 7 passenger family machine. With it's refined and elegant utilitarian design it provides a ride that is both ultra quiet and silky smooth. It's very un Land Rover-like while still screaming utility with it's softened boxy design. I love the fact that such a heavy vehicle that can drive thru rivers still can do 0-60 in 7+ seconds. All of this in a vehicle? What's the catch? Yes fuel economy is the obvious answer but really it's the small gas tank. The 3rd row of seats was a likely design tradeoff vs. a bigger fuel tank which makes it's cruising distance on a tank 280 miles at best. One of my favorite things is the handling on curvy roads. For such a deceivingly top heavy SUV it handles turns with ease, stability and agility due to the bulk of the curb weight being low to the ground.

Good breaks, reasonably fast for a big family 4x4 with good handling for a car of its type. It is solid build qaulity but has some typical Land rover issues. Looks excellent inside and out and is a ... Read More
