2011 Kia Sedona Trims and Specs

The LX trim of the 2011 Kia Sedona is barely a unique trim, with only a rear-obstacle detection system and a stowable split-folding rear seat distinguishing it from the base trim that was available in 2010. That is, of course, if you discount the 13 extra inches of wheelbase you get with the LX, something not to be ignored but made distinctively less impressive now that the Base trim is no more. Power windows, doors, and mirrors are all included here, and the passengers in the second-row buckets and the third-row split-folding seat will be protected by privacy glass as well as a long list of safety features. But we’ll get to those later. Front and rear air conditioning gets handled by tri-zone controls, and once comfort is handled, you can get into the satellite-ready CD and MP3 player with digital-media connection and iPod connector. Roof rails add cargo capacity for the outside, but unfortunately you’ll still be staring at covers for the 16-inch wheels. Still powered by a 3.8-liter V6, the Sedona LX gets a five-speed shiftable automatic as well as traction control. Four-wheel antilock disc brakes come with standard brake assist, and occupants are further protected by dual front, front-side, and curtain-side airbags.

Kia knows what you need for a top-tier trim, and it isn’t holding back. That said, amongst all the impressive features you’ll get with the Sedona EX, the most welcome comes in the form of 17-inch alloy wheels to replace the steel 16s the other trims carry. You’ll also get power-sliding rear doors, a rear-view camera, and a power liftgate, though – and these are nothing to sneeze at. This is on top of the heated power mirrors, power rear quarter windows, power doors, and power windows. And don’t forget the tri-zone front and rear air conditioning. The tilt steering wheel is leather-wrapped here, and the driver’s bucket comes with 8-way power as well. The driver’s seat also gets lumbar adjustment and so your partner doesn’t get too jealous, the passenger seat gets 4-way power as well. There’s also an automatic rear-view and a garage-door opener. Up front, foglights have been fitted into the air dam in front of the 3.8-liter V6 engine. All Sedona trims get a five-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift gate, as well as traction control and brake assist for the four-wheel antilock disc brakes. The CD/MP3 stereo is the same for every trim, but still quite well equipped with digital-media connection, iPod adaptor, and satellite capability. And for final safety features, you can count on a rear-obstacle detection system and six standard airbags.
