Overview of 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS By Michael Perkins
The 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS presents itself as the base trim for this model, powered by a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but a six-speed shiftable automatic is available. Cloth upholstery covers the front bucket and split-folding rear seat, but neither are power. Major adjustments will have to come from the tilt and telescoping steering wheel, which also houses controls for the satellite-ready CD and MP3 player, which comes with an iPod adapter and digital-media-player connection. Bluetooth is standard here, as well as power windows, locks, heated power mirrors and remote-keyless entry. 16-inch wheels come with covers and hide the antilock, four-wheel disc brakes. Stopping is additionally aided by brake assist and anti-skid, and further safety features include traction control, daytime running lights and six standard airbags.
This overview covers the GLS trim only.
