Just introduced for the 2011 model year, the four-wheel-drive Honda CR-V SE 4WD compact crossover SUV is placed just above the base LX trim. Heavy on both performance and features, this five-passenger mini-ute sports standard 17-inch alloy wheels, front captain’s chairs, reclining rear seats, steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, telescoping tilt-wheel steering, air conditioning, and a 160-watt single-CD player with six speakers and an auxiliary MP3 input, with such options as a trailer hitch, upgraded cabin accents, remote engine start, step running boards, and upgraded audio also available.
Safety-wise, the 2011 CR-V SE 4WD, in addition to road-hugging 4WD performance, boasts standard four-wheel ABS, traction and stability control, front side-mounted airbags, front and rear head airbags, front head restraint whiplash protection, and daytime running lights. Additionally, optional backup sensors and front fog/driving lights bolster this compact crossover’s safety equipment.
As with the rest of the 2011 CR-V lineup, the SE 4WD offers the standard variable-valve-timed 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine and five-speed automatic transmission for 180 hp and 161 lb-ft of torque. A mechanical, center-mounted limited-slip differential provides full-time 4WD at 21/27 mpg, while the addition of the available ball-type trailer hitch means 1,500 pounds of towing capacity.
