Overview of 2011 Honda Accord Crosstour EX-L 4WD w/ Navigation By Eric Tallberg
Adding a standard voice-activated navigation system to the 4-wheel-drive-equipped (4WD) flagship trim begets the 2011 Honda Accord Crosstour EX-L 4WD w/ Navigation. This midsize 4-door, 5-passenger hatchback/crossover may not look pretty, at least to some, but it’ll handle 51.3 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seats folded. Rest assured that its Accord sedan and coupe siblings can’t do that. And the Accord Crosstour handles almost like the sedan, while its acceleration isn’t far behind the coupe's. Besides its namesake navigation system, which also includes a backup camera, such standard luxury features as leather upholstery, heated, power-adjustable front seats, driver memory for the seat and outside mirrors, and leather and simulated alloy accents inside, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels and a power sunroof outside give this oversized Accord some additional panache. Added to the list of standard goodies are remote power door locks, power windows and heated outside mirrors, telescoping tilt-wheel steering, cruise control and dual-zone climate control. Standard techno-gizmos, meanwhile, include a universal remote garage door opener and a 380-watt audio system with 6-CD changer, seven speakers, satellite radio and a USB connection. A Bluetooth hands-free data link is also delivered with this top-shelf hatchback. All this is why the “L” in EX-L stands for Luxury.
Options for the 2011 Accord Crosstour EX-L 4WD w/ Navigation are all dealer-installed and include upgraded 18-inch wheels, underbody spoilers, a roof rack, backup sensors and remote engine start.
A 3.5-liter, variable-valve-timed V6 powerplant is standard in the 2011 Accord Crosstour EX-L 4WD w/ Navigation, and mated with the 5-speed automatic transmission, it puts out 271 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque. All this is good enough to tow 1,500 pounds of trailer, as long as the available towing package is installed. Expect 18 mpg city/26 highway in this beefed-up Accord, with Honda’s Real Time 4WD system managed by a mechanical, center limited-slip differential. This unique configuration allows power to be transferred from front-wheel drive, the ordinary drive mode, to wheels that grip, front and/or rear, when traction needs dictate.
Safety-wise, the 2011 Accord Crosstour EX-L 4WD w/ Navigation sports standard 4-wheel antilock brakes (ABS) as well as traction and stability control, front side-mounted airbags, front and rear head airbags and front head-restraint whiplash protection. Additional standard safety equipment includes daytime running lights, front fog/driving lights and a remote antitheft alarm.
This overview covers the EX-L 4WD w/ Navigation trim only.
