2011 Ford Mustang GT Premium Review
ProsFun! Comfortable. Fold-down rear head rests. Great A/C. Wondrous exhaust note. Capless gas tank. Effortless spiritedness. ConsNo 5.0 badges on CS edition! Spoiler too high on rear. No telescoping steering wheel.

As Much Fun To Drive As You Can Get! — Bought my 2011 GT Premium California Special (Automatic)about 6 weeks ago. Love it! Coming out of a C-6 Vette, so I wanted similar performance...pretty close, for sure! Only set out to purchase a GT Premium, but the California Special just felt even better and looked great in Torch Red. I was hooked the first test-drive block! Drove the new V-6 first, then the new V-8. Nice big step up and worth the extra $$. Very smooth on the highway, comfortable interior, and am learning the nuances of the high tech stuff such as Sync as I go! I wanted a car with super performance and super good looks...I got both. Of course, it is about as fun to drive as you can ask for! I've been through several tanks of gas, and I've always averaged over 20mpg. That's good considering the amount of new owner heavy foot! Buy one...you can't not like this car!!! Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsThings I love: The power! The looks! The feel and response while driving. I love that you can see the hood while driving and not have a vanishing hood like most cars. ConsThe only negative drawback I can think of is the rear seats and the low gear ratio they give you to keep MPGs up.

There Are A Lot Of Mystangs On The Road For A Reason. Because They Are The King Of The Highway! — This is perfect for a single person or a couple with no kids, as the back seats are next to useless. I have actually been thinking about removing the rear seats completely to free up some weight. So far in the year and a half that I have owned her, I have had zero mechanical issues. Not once have I had to get anything fixed under warranty and not once has there been a recall notice. Very happy. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Awesome! — I like everything about it mostly. It accelerates well. These cars are veryfast. If you like a powerfull car that runs well on the road this is it. This car is so much fun to drive, but be warned it can very addictive as far as speeding. i Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Camaro And Challenger Killer — This is the beast that's taking on the world of high end sports cars. As fast on the quartermile as an M3, corners like a vette, with all the trim of a european car at a fraction of the cost. Its a tried and true musclecar with all the fun. Drawbacks are mostly construction issues (namely, the transmission), and some body sway, but not nearly as much as we've all come to expect from American autos. Another Great Build By Ford Well Thought Out, Sleek, Great Looking And Very Fast Muscle Car! — For those of you that have been following my saga; Purchased 5/13/11. I wound up trading the "2011 Red Candy 5.0 6-spd 3:73 geared Rocket i'm going to kill myself car" for something just a little more sensible (I think).... I found a dealer demo 2011 GT 5.0 Convertible, in fantastic condition with 6k miles on it, Got a huge discount from sticker plus, plus - Black Cloth Top on Black, with Black Leather, exterior sport pkg 6 - hood scoop, side scoops, deck lid spoiler and trunk blackout panel which I really didn't like at first but i now see its great for keeping finger prints off the trunk when you close the lid, and yes its an automatic, fully loaded, still love the Voice SYNC/NAV/CD /DVD/ USB/ MP3/10 gig Hard Drive for photos n music it's just awesome oh and Bluetooth for hands free calling is a great plus! Got the comfort group on this one but not the nicer interior package, black leather is a little different in this one than the upgraded package, I will also upgrade and cover the shiny dash with some dark carbon fiber, I already tinted out at 5%/5%/35% (legal fronts) and 5% 6in strip front window, head and fog lights tinted 20%, they look dark but not too dark for driving at night, gives off a menacing look and gets many looks in return. Rims are the Sport 19" regular Pony GT 5-spoke painted rims but they look great against the black. I'm thinking about getting the GT/CS Machined Rims in BLACK, I think their new this year on the 2012 GT/CS if I'm not mistaken, and of course it's summer and having the top down is so nice, they kids love it and it's been a long time since we've had a convertible. The BREMBO brake pkg on the 6-spd is vastly superior to the normal brakes you get on the GT, drive is basically the same, good sharp and very responsive but again pales against the 6-spd with the special tuned suspension that gave a much bumpier ride, the convertible has a much more mild mannered but very responsive drive all it's own and even though this car essentially has the exact same power as the previous 6-spd I had, I find myself driving at a much leisurely pace, like driving a regular car, but still power is there waiting for your command, I got 18-22mpg with the stick even driving as madly as I drove it, the auto so far is 17 in city havent had time to take a road trip but will report back with that info when I do, so I went through 3 cars to get to this one, this is the right one for me, this one is the 'keeper'. Extremely happy with this purchase just ANOTHER GREAT product from FORD! Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsEverything between the front and rear bumpers. ConsNo spare tire! Just an air compressor/sealant kit. A spare & jack will set you back over $400.

Are Ford Designers Psychic? They Read My Mind When Designing This Car! — The new engines for 2011 are definitely impressive. Couldn't swing the $36,000 for the new 5.0 V8 in the GT, so got the V6 for around $22,00. 31 mpg highway, a new 6-speed transmission and 305 hp gets is down the road in a serious hurry. I can keep up with the outgoing 4.6 liter V8 from 2005-2010...and still pay only V6 insurance and sipping gas. The interior is absolutely perfect. All the rattles from previous years are gone, and the seats are the most comfortable I've had the joy to sit in...this car is even more comfortable than the Buick I own for work purposes. ProsA car for those who enjoy driving. ConsExpensive to own...

I Love My Mustang! — This car is great for those of us who enjoy driving. The massive amount of power available makes it very rewarding to step on the gas. Powered by ford's 5 Liter V8, the sound of it alone is enough to turn heads. It isn't a cheap car to own, but if you are after a Mustang, your priorities aren't on saving fuel or tires!

Reasonably Priced And An Over All Good Value. — Performance?Good performance (so far). I love the way that it drives. Build Quality? It's a 2011 and its 2011...so no repairs needed yet Appearance? Classic American muscle car styling. It is a great looking car inside and out. Gas mileage? Um...I guess there are cars with better but it gets decent mileage Cost of Ownership? Its new and under warranty so haven't had to pay for anything other than gas. Fun Factor? It is fun, but would probablly be more fun if it were a manual transmission and 5.0 but I still love it. Awesome — Its power and look, very comfortable, handling is excellent, the gas mileage is good for a 412 horse power car, 23.7 miles to the gallon. Wish it had the 373 gears to be a little quicker, but it is very fast with the 331's in it. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
