Overview of 2011 Ford Expedition King Ranch By Jesse Berger
Gussied-up with two-tone paint and special badges, the 2011 Ford Expedition King Ranch is a stylish and luxurious full-size SUV. As the top trim in the range, the Expedition King Ranch comes with a full complement of comfort and convenience features and wears a premium pricetag.
Power for the 2011 Expedition King Ranch comes from the well-known 5.4-liter Triton V8 engine. With 310 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque, the V8 does its best to motivate the King Ranch, yet it's ultimately overwhelmed by the SUV's three-ton curb weight. The Expedition King Ranch's rear wheels are driven via a six-speed automatic transmission that proves a willing partner, serving up smooth downshifts when called upon.
The 2011 King Ranch lives up to its billing as the ultimate Expedition with special "Pale Adobe Metallic" lower paint and 20-inch alloy wheels. The two-tone exterior and gleaming chrome grill make quite an impression, provided your taste runs to the slightly outlandish. Inside, the Expedition King Ranch gets unique "Chapparal" brown leather trim and woven floor mats. All of the luxury trappings of the Limited trim are standard here, including dual-zone climate control, a 340-watt CD stereo, rain-sensing wipers, and a rear-view camera. Options include GPS navigation, remote start, and a power sunroof.
This overview covers the King Ranch trim only.
