Overview of 2011 Ford Expedition King Ranch 4WD By Jesse Berger
Featuring an advanced "Control-Trac" electronic transfer case, the 2011 Ford Expedition King Ranch 4WD is well-suited to slick roads or rough trails. Yet the King Ranch's capabilities off-road are upstaged by its swaggering presence on road, punctuated by a flashy two-tone paint job and 20-inch wheels.
Under the hood, the 2011 Expedition King Ranch features Ford's 5.4-liter V8 engine. With 310 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque, this latest variant of the Triton engine is smooth and responsive, though its nearly three-ton burden means that it doesn't deliver particularly swift acceleration. Shifting duties are handled admirably by a slick six-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, the 2011 Expedition King Ranch 4WD gets the royal treatment with unique chestnut-hued Chapparal embroidered leather seats. The rich coloring of the upholstery combines with wood-trim accents and plenty of chrome to provide an interior ambiance that's quite distinctive. The lengthy equipment list includes a standard rear-view camera, power-adjustable pedals, dual-zone climate control, and a booming, 340-watt stereo. Options include GPS navigation, remote start, and a power sunroof.
This overview covers the King Ranch 4WD trim only.
