Overview of 2011 Chevrolet Suburban LS 2500 By Jesse Berger
With its beefy suspension and rear-wheel-drive layout, the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban LS 2500 is an ideal SUV for long-distance highway towing. The three-quarter-ton Suburban 2500 chassis features a torsion bar and leaf spring suspension that delivers a slightly bumpy ride but provides generous payload and tow ratings.
In addition to its stronger suspension, the 2011 Suburban LS 2500 features a 6.0-liter gas V8 engine. Though it cannot be run on E85 ethanol, the larger V8 churns out 352 hp and 382 lb-ft of torque. The extra power provided by the larger motor provides formidable acceleration and enables the Suburban LS 2500 to tow up to 9,600 pounds. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard and features a tow/haul mode that revises shift points for better performance under load.
With seating for nine the Suburban LS 2500 is able to carry the whole gang, plus their gear, in style and comfort. The fresh, modern interior offers an AM/FM/CD stereo and a power driver's seat as standard equipment. Separate front and rear air conditioning will keep passengers comfortable in the summer, while optional remote start and heated seats will ensure warmth throughout the colder months.
This overview covers the LS 2500 trim only.
