Overview of 2011 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500 By Jesse Berger
Though the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500 represents the most affordable model in the range, it's loaded with features and possessed of considerable capability. As a half-ton trim the 2011 Suburban LS 1500 features a coil-spring suspension that gives a comfortable ride.
Driving the 2011 Suburban LS 1500's rear wheels is a 5.3-liter V8 engine. This motor, which can operate on either gasoline or E85 ethanol, develops 320 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque. Though the Suburban is a very heavy vehicle, its small-block V8 provides adequate, if not sprightly, acceleration. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard and provides excellent shift quality. An optional (and highly recommended) limited-slip rear end should help the rear-wheel-drive Suburban maintain traction in the wet.
Inside, the Suburban LS 1500 features an exceptional amount of space and all the features most families need. Up to nine passengers can be accommodated, and the cloth upholstery is both durable and comfortable. Power accessories (including a power driver's seat) are standard, as are separate front and rear air-conditioning and keyless entry. Options include heated seats, adjustable pedals, and a rear-view camera.
This overview covers the LS 1500 trim only.
