Though the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500 represents the most affordable model in the range, it's loaded with features and possessed of considerable capability. As a half-ton trim the 2011 Suburban LS 1500 features a coil-spring suspension that gives a comfortable ride.

Driving the 2011 Suburban LS 1500's rear wheels is a 5.3-liter V8 engine. This motor, which can operate on either gasoline or E85 ethanol, develops 320 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque. Though the Suburban is a very heavy vehicle, its small-block V8 provides adequate, if not sprightly, acceleration. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard and provides excellent shift quality. An optional (and highly recommended) limited-slip rear end should help the rear-wheel-drive Suburban maintain traction in the wet.
