2010 Toyota Avalon XL Trim Overview

Though listed as the base trim of the lineup, the 2010 Toyota Avalon XL is about as far from basic as a family sedan gets. Despite its relatively tiny trunk (14 cubic feet), this masterful highway cruiser offers such standard appearance, comfort, and convenience amenities as 16-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, power driver’s seat, reclining rear seats, power accessories, cruise control, wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, telescoping tilt-wheel steering, dual-zone climate control, simulated alloy cabin trim accents, and a 6-CD changer with nine speakers. Options include many of the features found standard on the higher trims, as well as a power moonroof. Safety is not overlooked, of course, with standard four-wheel ABS, traction and stability control, front side-mounted airbags, front and rear head airbags, active front headrests, and daytime running lights, not to mention an optional remote anti-theft alarm.

Boasting a highly regarded 3.5-liter V6 engine and standard six-speed auto-manual transmission, the 2010 Avalon XL will put out 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. With variable valve timing, the V6 is estimated to get 19/28 mpg. All Avalon trims are available only in front-wheel drive (FWD).
