Overview of 2010 Nissan Maxima SV By Michael Perkins

If you thought the Maxima S trim was well-equipped, get ready to be impressed by the SV. Not only do you get dual power bucket seats, but they come with leather upholstery here. Not only do you get a 6-CD and MP3 player with digital-media player connection and Bluetooth, it’s a satellite-ready Bose system here, with auxiliary controls on the leather-wrapped tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Automatic headlights are included and paired with foglights not found on the 3.5 S. Power windows and doors are still paired with power mirrors, but here they have integrated turn signals as well.

Driver conveniences come in the form of a tachometer, trip computer, outside-temperature indicator and compass, universal garage-door opener, automatic rearview and remote keyless entry, access, and start. If the power sunroof isn’t enough, dual-zone automatic climate controls keep everyone comfortable, and illuminated visor mirrors mean you’ll never show up disheveled.

A 3.5-liter V6 delivers power to the 18-inch alloys through a continuously variable transmission with manual-shift capability, and traction control keeps the tires from slipping if you happen to get happy with all that power. Antilock four-wheel disc brakes with brake assist handle stopping power, and an anti-skid system is standard fare for all Maximas. Six standard airbags are a big part of the Maxima’s stellar safety ratings, as well as automatic headlights, a tire pressure monitor, and a theft-deterrent system.

This overview covers the SV trim only.
