Pros

6-speed manual is great on hills, especially on the way to Santa Cruz.  Suspension and handling are excellent.  The roof retraction mechanism is very convenient.

Cons

Gear ratio not optimized for freeway driving - high rpm above 70 mph.  Trunk space limits how many cases of wine can be brought back in one trip.

Most Fun Car I Have Owned — We have had a blast leasing this vehicle. It was our summer vehicle for use for trips to the ocean or the mountains. Climbing hills was effortless and winding roads were a must find. Sad that the lease is ending, but we get to pass along this toy.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

This sport car is fantastic for Florida weather. I love to drive with open roof going to work or to the Keys. Gasoline consumption is low and the engine is very powerful and ready to responds to the request of power. easy to clean inside and outside. Very quickly to fold the roof and does not take space in the trunk. It looks beautiful the Blue color  and black inside. A car for male and female.

Cons

Small trunk space and gasoline tank

Ultra Fun Topless Driving At An Affordable Price — I ended up buying this car because it was a leftover 2010 in the summer of 2011. After test driving the car I knew I wanted it and then proceeded to hammer out a good deal with the sales person. This car just brings smiles galore to my face whenever I take it out for a drive. Sometimes I even commute to work with it on a nice clear day since it is so fun to drive. The Mazda MX-5 has good power and even better handling. It is such a blast to toss into curves.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

Simply the simplest and most focused drivers car in the market.  All hail the king of the sports cars.

Cons

The mazda paint chips easily.  That's the only negative.

Wicked Fun...wickedly Economic. — This is a driver's car. If you haven't driven one...hold your tongue, get to a mazda dealership, and take this car out! It is the most perfectly balanced car I've driven. You can turn off all the help and make it slide until you're tired of it, then you can drive it like your parents would. Also...put some winter tires on it and it's quite competent as long as it doesn't rub its belly on the snow. Every gear is right where you want it, the sound is great without being loud, and it gets STUPID good mileage. Worst tank so far is 24 MPG, we average 32 in the city, driving it hard! If you can drive this without a goofy grin on your face you have no soul!

Pros

I used to make fun of this car before I drove one and I sincerely apologize to Mazda and every owner ever for that. It's fun, quick, reliable and the cost of ownership is on the low end. If you can get past the whole "It takes premium gas" part, then you'll love owning and driving one.

Cons

Umm... maybe add a digital compass? The only car that I drove that could outperform the MX-5 in handling was the Boxster, and it wasn't by much (the 911 didn't come close to the Boxster or MX-5's handling)

Porsche Handling, Mazda Price. — It's a roadster; a 2 seat, RWD, convertible. I don't have kids so there's no need for a backseat. Cargo room. I can pack an entire shopping cart of groceries into the trunk and then there's half a cart worth of room behind the roll bars when the top it up. There's also cubbies everywhere in the car for extra storage. It's shocking when you realize how much stuff it can hold! Build quality, ride quality and MPG are better than the '06 I had. They say the AT and MT have similar MPG, HOWEVER, the MT has 167HP vs the AT with 158HP so that's a win for the MT. I've had the car in for oil changes....... that's about it. Well, the battery had to be reset for sitting in the showroom for so long so aside from that it's been super reliable. shifting is like butter and I smile every time I have the top down and I see curvy roads coming up. It's worth the money. The sound system is better than in my '06 AND you get speakers in-between the seats in every trim on the newer models instead of just the GT on the older models like my '06. Just drive one with the top down on a beautiful day and you'll see why Mazda has sold over 900,000 of these cars since it was released in '89 and the number is shooting up higher each year.

Pros

This car is absolutely fun to drive and a real head turner. Very economical to own and insure with an excellent manufacturers warranty and reputation.  Best selling roadster in the world for several years now.

Cons

Not the tire burning power of my old Honda S2000.

Fun To Drive Roadster. — Although I have only put 1,700 miles on this little baby, it has been a joy to use around town and on country roads. This is a fun to drive and easy to own sport car that is as close to the feel of my old MGB's as any other little 4 banger that I have owned.

Interesting Car. — With a rotary engine, and size, this small sports car is a lot of fun for adults with the need for a fun ride. It has a low profile which makes it easy to get into, but a challenge to get out of.

Fun Driver, Very Comfortable And Good Space For A Classis Roadster. — Great car. Perfect for me as daily driver and weekend fun car. Handles nicely. Top is really impressive in that is simple, with not as many moving parts as the competition and it fits in the boot leaving trunk space. The auto and its simulated manual is kinda cool and though I have read some bad things about the sound system I find it perfectly adequate. Very pleased with the purchase.
