Overview of 2010 Mazda CX-9 Sport AWD By R. Feeman

The 2010 Mazda CX-9 Sport AWD delivers optimal traction on all types of road surfaces, as well as seating for up to seven passengers in three rows and a number of new interior and exterior features. Inside, new features for 2010 include a redesigned leather-trimmed center console, upgraded high-density seating fabric, and chrome accents throughout the cabin. A leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, three-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, remote keyless entry, and a six-speaker AM/FM audio system with a CD player, Sirius satellite radio, and an MP3 input jack also come standard. New exterior features for 2010 include a restyled grille, updated headlights, and larger, more aerodynamic power-adjustable side mirrors, as well as a redesigned rear end with new LED taillights.

Mazda's Active Torque Split all-wheel-drive system, which keeps the CX-9 AWD firmly planted to the road, sends 100 percent of torque to the front wheels during normal driving conditions, and to the rear axle or to wheels with traction when it detects slippage. Power comes in the form of a 3.7-liter V6 engine, which produces 273 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The V6 mates to a six-speed Sport AT electronically controlled automatic transmission with a manual-shift mode. The CX-9 Sport AWD achieves fuel economy numbers of 15/21 mpg, according to EPA estimates. A Tow Prep Package comes standard, enabling the CX-9 AWD to tow up to 3,500 pounds. Antilock brakes, traction control, Dynamic Stability Control, and a Roll Stability Control system all come standard. The CX-9 Sport AWD rides on 18-inch wheels with all-season radial tires.

This overview covers the Sport AWD trim only.
