Overview of 2010 MINI Cooper Clubman S By Jesse Berger
Representing the middle position in its lineup, the 2010 MINI Cooper Clubman S comes with a big performance boost over the Base trim's. The addition of a turbocharger to the 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder provides 172 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. Nearly 60 extra horsepower transforms the Clubman's acceleration from vapid to rapid: 0-60 mph takes 6.7 seconds.
The Cooper Clubman S features a four-wheel independent suspension that proves a more-than-willing partner on twisty roads. The chassis tuning (by BMW) is excellent, and its frisky handling is complemented by strong brakes. Safety features are numerous and include antilock control for the brakes, front, side, and curtain airbags, and stability control.
For 2010 the Cooper Clubman S features a host of comfort and convenience features, including standard power accessories, leatherette upholstery, and a CD stereo. A multitude of options can upgrade the Clubman S with real leather, a navigation system, and a two-pane power moonroof.
This overview covers the S trim only.
