New for 2010, the Lexus IS C 250C midsize luxury convertible coupe comes equipped with a power-operated, three-piece aluminum hardtop, which opens and closes in just 20 seconds. Exterior features include large air intakes, a bold grille, and fascia with integrated elliptical foglights, power-adjustable exterior mirrors with defoggers, a rear spoiler with an integrated brake light, and dual chrome exhaust tips. Although the 250C borrows some of its exterior styling from the IS sedan, the convertible coupe's front doors are 11.8 inches longer than those on the sedan, allowing easy access to the interior.
Inside, such features as leather upholstery, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, metallic-finish trim, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel add an upscale feel. Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, push-button start, and an illuminated entry system also come standard. An eight-speaker AM/FM premium audio system with a 6-CD changer, XM satellite radio, an automatic sound levelizer, and an MP3 input jack provides entertainment for the passengers. Under the hood, a 2.5-liter V6 engine powers the 250C. It produces 204 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque, and mates to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The V6 posts fuel economy numbers of 21/29 mpg. Vehicle stability control, traction control, and antilock brakes with brake assist all come standard, along with a full range of airbags, including enlarged front-seat-mounted side airbags. The rear-wheel-drive IS C 250C convertible rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires.
