Overview of 2010 Hyundai Sonata SE By R. Feeman

The 2010 Hyundai Sonata SE comes equipped with a number of standard features not available on the entry-level Sonata GLS trim, including an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. In addition, Hyundai includes leather bolster seating surfaces with cloth inserts as standard equipment on the Sonata SE. Other standard features include front bucket seats, air conditioning, cruise control, and remote keyless entry. Metal-grain interior accents add a sporty feel. Technolology features include an 80-watt, six-speaker AM/FM audio system with a CD player, an MP3 input jack, and an antenna with XM reception. Optional equipment includes a power tilt-and-slide sunroof and an upgraded 240-watt audio system with a 6-CD changer and a subwoofer.

For power, Hyundai offers a choice of a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which comes standard, or an optional 3.3-liter, DOHC V6. The four-cylinder engine generates 175 hp and 168 lb-ft of torque, and posts fuel economy numbers of 22/32 mpg. The V6 boosts performance to 249 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque, although fuel economy numbers drop slightly to 19/29 mpg. Both engines link to a five-speed automatic transmission. The Sonata SE features a sport-tuned suspension with stiffer front and rear springs, as well as retuned struts, when compared to the standard Sonata suspension. Electronic stability control, traction control, and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution come standard. The Sonata SE rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

This overview covers the SE trim only.
