Overview of 2010 Honda Civic Si By R. Feeman
The Honda Civic Si compact sedan holds the distinction as the most powerful Civic trim available for 2010, thanks to its 2.0-liter, DOHC four-cylinder engine, which produces 197 hp, an increase of 57 hp over the base Civic's powerplant. Torque tops out at 139 lb-ft. Variable valve timing, a cold-air intake, and a high-flow, low-heat exhaust manifold ensure a full, throaty sound under aggressive acceleration and a quieter exhaust note at cruising speeds. The engine mates to a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission. Fuel economy numbers check in at 21/29 mpg. The Si comes equipped with a sportier suspension than the base trims, and includes such standard features as Vehicle Stability Assist, traction control, brake assist, and antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution. The Civic Si rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season Michelin tires.
Inside, standard features for the Si include a two-tier instrument panel, a one-touch power moonroof with tilt, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, textured aluminum pedals, air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows and door locks. In addition, Honda wraps the aluminum shift knob with leather. For entertainment, the Si comes standard with a 350-watt, seven-speaker AM/FM audio system, which includes a CD player, a subwoofer, a USB interface, speed-sensitive volume, and an MP3 input jack. Owners can add XM satellite radio as an option. Other options include Bluetooth and a navigation system with voice recognition. Dual-stage front, front side, and side curtain airbags come standard. Outside, standard features include foglights, power exterior mirrors, a chrome exhaust tip, and chrome rear license-plate trim.
This overview covers the Si trim only.
