Overview of 2010 Honda Civic LX By R. Feeman

The 2010 Honda Civic LX compact sedan occupies the mid-level spot in the Civic lineup and includes a number of standard features not found on the entry-level DX trims, such as power door locks, cruise control, a center console with a sliding armrest, illuminated window button controls, and map lights. Other standard features for the Civic LX include air conditioning, power windows, a tilt/telescoping steering column, and a 160-watt, four-speaker AM/FM audio system with a CD player, speed-sensitive volume, and an MP3 input jack. The rear seatback splits and folds down to expand cargo space, which checks in at 12 cubic feet with the rear seatbacks up and in place. Dual-stage front, front side, and side curtain airbags also come standard.

A 1.8-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine provides power for the Civic LX. The engine produces 140 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque, and features multi-point fuel injection, a Direct Ignition system, and a Drive-by-Wire throttle system, which enhance performance, fuel economy, and responsiveness. The powerplant links to either a five-speed manual transmission, which comes standard, or an optional five-speed automatic. Fuel economy numbers for the engine check in at 26/34 mpg with the manual transmission and 25/36 mpg with the automatic. The engine runs on regular unleaded fuel. Antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution come standard. The Civic LX rides on 16-inch wheels with all-season tires.

This overview covers the LX trim only.
