Overview of 2010 Honda Civic EX-L By R. Feeman
As the best-equipped Civic trim available for 2010, the Civic EX-L adds a number of upscale standard features not found on other Civic trims, such as leather-trimmed upholstery and heated front seats, as well as heated exterior side mirrors. Other standard features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a one-touch power moonroof, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and door locks, and a six-speaker audio system with a CD player, a USB interface, speed-sensitive volume, and an MP3 input jack. Owners can add an optional Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with voice recognition, as well as optional Bluetooth and XM satellite radio. The rear seat includes a center armrest with cupholders and 60/40-split rear seatbacks, which fold down to expand the trunk's 12 cubic feet of storage space. Dual-stage front, front side, and side curtain airbags also come standard.
The 1.8-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine driving the Civic EX-L generates 140 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. The engine features multi-point fuel injection, a Direct Ignition system, and a Drive-by-Wire throttle system, which help to improve performance, fuel economy, and responsiveness. It links to either a five-speed manual transmission, which comes standard, or an optional five-speed automatic. Fuel economy numbers for the powerplant check in at 26/34 mpg with the manual transmission and 25/36 mpg with the automatic. The engine runs on regular unleaded fuel. A Vehicle Stability Assist system with traction control, brake assist, and antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution all come standard. The Civic EX-L trim rides on 16-inch wheels with all-season tires.
This overview covers the EX-L trim only.
