Overview of 2010 Honda Civic DX-VP By R. Feeman
The 2010 Honda Civic DX-VP compact sedan adds a number of standard features not found on the entry-level Civic DX trim, including air conditioning and a 160-watt, four-speaker AM/FM audio system with a CD player, speed-sensitive volume, and MP3 input jack. Other standard features include a tilt/telescoping steering column, blue backlit gauges, power windows, a rear-seat heater duct, and fold-down rear seatbacks. The trunk offers 12 cubic feet of cargo space. Dual-stage front, front side, and side curtain airbags also come standard.
Power for the Civic DX-VP comes in the form of a 1.8-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, which develops 140 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. It features multi-point fuel injection, a Direct Ignition system, and a Drive-by-Wire throttle system, which enhance performance, fuel economy, and responsiveness. The engine links to either a five-speed manual transmission, which comes standard, or an available five-speed automatic. The EPA estimates fuel economy numbers of 26/34 mpg with the manual transmission and 25/36 mpg with the automatic. The engine runs on regular unleaded fuel. Antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution come standard. The DX-VP rides on 15-inch wheels with all-season tires.
This overview covers the DX-VP trim only.
