Overview of 2010 Ford Escape Limited By Eric Tallberg
For 2010, the Ford Escape offers families a small, five-passenger, five-door SUV that, in the case of the Escape Limited trim, features a carload of standard amenities and safety items. As well as all the standard offerings of the XLS and XLT trims, including 66 cubic feet of cargo area (with the rear seats folded), the Limited adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated mirrors, and an MP3-compatible single-CD player with six speakers. Also, the Escape Limited tosses front fog/driving lights into the standard safety mix, as well as four-wheel ABS, traction and stability control, dual front side-mounted airbags, and front and rear head airbags.
A choice of engines is available for the 2010 Escape Limited, with the 171-hp, 171-lb-ft/torque 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) being the standard powerplant, along with a standard six-speed automatic transmission that’s earned kudos from automotive media coast to coast. This combo gets 21/28 mpg. Additionally, a 3.0-liter Flex Fuel V6 engine, mated with the standard six-speed automatic, is offered as an option. The Flex Fuel V6 pounds out 240 hp and 223 lb-ft of torque, while getting an EPA-estimated 19/25, and will also cook on both E85 ethanol fuel and regular unleaded gasoline.
This overview covers the Limited trim only.
