2010 Ford Escape Limited 4WD Trim Overview

Equipped identically to its front-wheel-drive (FWD) sibling, the 2010 Ford Escape Limited 4WD also features Ford’s Intelligent 4WD, a full-time four-wheel-drive system that monitors traction input 200 times per second and adjusts torque to provide optimum tire grip. A center limited-slip mechanical differential focuses all this intellect, while all-season tires pull the Escape Limited through snow, mud, and ice with equal aplomb. Do not, however, take the Limited 4WD far from civilization.

Like its front-wheel-drive brethren, the 2010 Escape Limited 4WD is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine and its accompanying six-speed automatic transmission, which deliver 171 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque to the tune of 20/26 mpg. A 240-hp, 223-lb-ft/torque 3.0-liter Flex Fuel V6 is also available with the Escape Limited 4WD. The 3.0-liter V6 is rated at 18/23 burning either E85 ethanol fuel or regular unleaded.
