As the base trim for the Edge crossover SUV lineup, the rear-wheel-drive-only 2010 Ford Edge SE carries fewer standard appearance, comfort, and convenience features and options than do its upper-echelon brethren. Five-passenger seating, front bucket seats, 17-inch painted-alloy wheels, and power windows, door locks, and mirrors are among the standard features of the SE, as are a tilting, telescoping steering wheel, air conditioning, cruise control, and a single-CD player with four speakers. Options run the gamut from SYNC/Bluetooth communications technology to a roof rack to daytime running lights to a Convenience Package with reverse parking sensors and auto on/off headlights to Sirius/XM satellite radio, while standard safety features include four-wheel disc ABS, traction and stability control (AdvanceTrac System), front side-mounted airbags, front and rear head airbags, and a post-collision safety system.
Packing the only engine and transmission combo available to the lineup, a 265-hp, 250-lb-ft/torque 3.5-liter variable-valve-timed (VVT) V6 and six-speed automatic, the 2010 Ford Edge SE can tow up to 3,500 pounds. The 3.5-liter V6 is rated at 18/25 mpg by the EPA. The 2010 Edge SE is the only trim in the lineup not available with all-wheel drive.
