2010 Dodge Journey SE Review
ProsSurprisingly comfortable for ALL passengers. Quick. Inexpensive to buy and maintain. I LOVE the 6000 mile oil change interval. Tons of room. ConsBought brand new and by 8000 miles I had to replace power steering and brakes (both covered under warranty, but this is WAY too soon to need replacing). Gas mileage is actually only 15/17 average (+/-1mpg); I've been calculating since day one.

Love My Journey. — I bought the Journey brand new, only 22 miles on it. First impression: Comfortable! I feel like I'm sitting on my couch! In 3 months I had realized my gas mileage did not meet expectations, 15city/17hwy is what I'm getting. In a 4 cylinder this is very poor, especially considering I commute and gas is a huge expense. At 5000 miles (sooner than recommended) I had my first oil change, air filter was black and oil level was 1 qt low. No improvement in mpg following maintenance. Power steering hose blew at 6000 miles. Allegedly hose was mis-routed and rubbing on belt. Replaced hose and ps box. By 7000 miles brakes were squeeking. Pads and rotors replaced (Chrysler acknowledged "issue" and covered under warranty). Now, at 15000 miles, brakes need replacing again. Other than these issues, which may be unique to my car, I love my Journey. I have 4 children and we all fit very comfortably in it, even on long road trips (10+ hours). No other problems whatsoever noted. Primary Use: Family transportation

Looks-mediocre, Performance-above Average. — Purchased to replace full size SUV with requirement that it not be a minivan and must accommodate a 6'1" child in the back seat and have third seat for the third child on long trips. This satisfies our requirements well and we are pleased with it overall. Primary Use: Family transportation

Overall Very Happy With It--good Gas Mileage, Comfortable, Handles The Road Well — We have had our 2010 Dodge Journey SXT AWD for just over one month. We loved it til we took a trip with it and had major problems which ended our trip before it started! Our car was in the shop for 2 weeks and still has one more thing to fix when the part comes in. The driveshaft was not properly attached at the factory and it snapped as we were driving--scary stuff! We hope this is just an isolated fluke because it is a nice car and we like all the cool features of it. Our dealership has been amazing and we know they will help us with any future problems if they should arise. I would recommend the Journey but get more than just the basic package--they may cost more but you are worth it! Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsVALUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ConsNot the best resale value

Best Value Of Any Of The Crossovers. Dollar For Dollar, No One Else Comes Close. — There are some negatives of this vehicle, but lets compare apples to apples. When I went looking for a crossover, I found I was able to get this one for 7k less then a similiar Chevy Traverse. I picked up an SXT FEW for less then 22k and believe this vehicle to the the best dollar for dollar vehicle for the money. Is it the best? No. Is it the best for the money? Yes, by a landslide! A Good Looking Machine With A Comfortable Ride. — Great value for the money. The 2.4L has adequite power, although definately does not have the performance characteristics of a V6. The ride quality is good, it handles well, and the ESP system is responsive and makes driving very predictable in inclement weather. Overall an excellent vehicle. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Get Family Transporter Car For The Money On The Market — build quality fantastic, inclusions for the money far superior than anything else on market, performance - a little sluggish could use a bit bigger engine only has 2.7L V6. Interior syling - storage for everything you ever would need. good quality leather seats very comfortable. currently not many in australia but growing in popularity quickly. milage is same as other family transporters av 11.7L per 100km.
