Overview of 2010 Dodge Charger SRT8 By Eric Tallberg
Say what you want to about Chrysler Corporation, but the 2010 Dodge Charger SRT8 is living proof that nostalgia and purebred V8 horsepower still sell. This muscle-bound sedan, with its 6.1-liter OHV V8 engine and five-speed auto-manual transmission, flips off the EPA to the tune of 425 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, all of those ponies herded by a standard limited-slip rear differential. Sheiks and South American dictators, meanwhile, laugh all the way to their various Swiss banks at the SRT8's 13/19 mpg.
The bulked up 2010 Charger SRT8 adds suede-accented leather-trimmed sport bucket seats, sport-tuned suspension and steering, remote start, trip computer, universal remote garage-door opener, and available 13-speaker Kicker premium audio system and HID headlights to the best of what the lower Charger trims have to offer. Face it, the SRT8 screams like a banshee, handles like a deranged dream, pampers like an English butler, and looks like a million bucks. Needless to say, the SRT8 is offered in only a rear-wheel-drive version.
This overview covers the SRT8 trim only.
