Overview of 2010 Chevrolet Suburban LTZ 1500 4WD By Eric Tallberg

The half-ton-only 2010 Chevrolet Suburban LTZ 1500 4WD is the flagship of the Suburban fleet. With on-demand four-wheel drive piled on top of the various added amenities, options, and safety features also offered with the rear-wheel-drive LTZ 1500, this capable, roomy, go-anywhere full-size SUV teeters on luxury while retaining prodigious cargo capacity and rugged, truck-like attributes.

As with all its 1500 brethren, the 2010 Suburban LTZ 1500 4WD is powered by a 320-hp, 335-lb-ft/torque 5.3-liter Flex Fuel V8, managed by the standard six-speed automatic transmission. This combo can tow 7,900 pounds when properly equipped, but despite variable valve timing and cylinder-deactivation technology, gulps gas at a staggering rate and is even harder on E85 ethanol fuel.

This overview covers the LTZ 1500 4WD trim only.
