Overview of 2010 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500 By Eric Tallberg
The roomy and capable 2010 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500 full-size SUV offers a boatload of standard safety, appearance, comfort, and convenience features to go along with a truckload of available options. Standard amenities include 17-inch alloy wheels, trailer hitch and wiring, roof rack, premium cloth upholstery, nine-passenger seating, power driver’s seat, tilt-wheel steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power accessories, cruise, dual-zone air conditioning, OnStar telecommunications capability, and a single-CD audio system with six speakers and satellite radio. Options include the Heavy-Duty Trailering Package, DVD navigation/rearview camera package, power sunroof, 20-inch aluminum wheels, rear-seat DVD entertainment, remote start, power-adjustable pedals, and Bose premium audio, while four-wheel ABS, traction and stability control, front side airbags, three-row head airbags, the OnStar post-collision safety system, and daytime running lights are among the standard safety features.
Packing a 5.3-liter, E85-capable Flex Fuel (FFV) V8 powerplant and six-speed automatic transmission, the rear-wheel-drive 2010 Suburban uses its 320 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque to haul up to 8,100 pounds of trailer. The 5.3-liter V8, though variable-valve-timed (VVT) and featuring cylinder deactivation at highway speeds, still gets EPA-estimated mileage of only 15/21 mpg.
