Overview of 2010 Chevrolet Impala LS By R. Feeman
The 2010 Chevrolet Impala LS comes well-equipped with a long list of standard features, including dual-zone climate control, remote keyless entry, cruise control, a tilt steering wheel, and power windows and door locks. Cloth upholstery also comes standard. The driver's seat features six-way power adjustment, while wood-grain applique on the instrument panel and door adds an upscale feel to the cabin. A six-speaker AM/FM audio system with a CD player, an MP3 input jack, and XM satellite radio keeps passengers entertained. In addition, The Impala LS comes standard with OnStar, which offers such services as remote door unlock, roadside assistance, vehicle diagnostics, automatic crash response, and emergency services.
A 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the 2010 Impala LS. The V6 produces 211 hp and 216 lb-ft of torque, and links to an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The EPA estimates fuel economy numbers for the V6 at 19/29 mpg. The FlexFuel-capable engine runs on either regular unleaded gasoline or E85 fuel. The front-wheel-drive Impala LS sits on a four-wheel Touring independent suspension, which provides a comfortable ride and good handling, although some owners consider the suspension too soft, resulting in some float and wallow. Traction control, four-wheel antilock brakes, and the StabiliTrak electronic stability control come standard. The front-wheel-drive Impala LS rides on 16-inch steel wheels with all-season tires.
This overview covers the LS trim only.
